The best investment strategies and the essential information to boost your first portfolio.

Welcome and thanks for joining us,

On our blog, beginner investment strategies, we will cover the best investment strategies and the essential information to boost your first portfolio. All information will be based on our experiences and personal portfolio gains and is not intended to be financial advice.

We will first start with some basic beginner knowledge, like what is investing and how to invest, for the fact that you have never started an investment portfolio.

What is investing?

Investing is a term used in multiple different ways, but the result should be the gaining of something. Just like you would invest your time in learning something new, you would eventually gain the knowledge and know-how to do it. Focusing more on the money aspect of investing would be something like buying a twelve-pack of Pepsi for $5 and then selling each individual can or bottle for $1 each, you then gained a profit.

How to invest?

This question solely depends on you and your goals, like mentioned above, investing can mean anything that you contribute in return for gaining something. On this beginner investments blog, we will focus more on money investments, particularly with different brokerage companies, cryptocurrency exchanges, crowdsource funding apps, and will cover the basic knowledge of those accounts along with ETFs, options trading, IPOs, and more, so when we refer to investing, it will be in that aspect of thinking.

What is a portfolio?

A portfolio is a picture of the amounts you have invested in any particular investment and will show your gains or losses in that specific investment.

First investment portfolio

Starting your first investment portfolio can be somewhat intimating, with the constant fear in the back of your mind, what if I lose? That specifically is the reason you should only invest what you can afford to lose, kind of like playing the slot machine at a nearby casino. You could put that extra $20 in a come-out ahead or you could just lose it all, just like if a company you invested in goes bankrupt.

Research is key.

Researching the company or companies you are thinking of investing in, plays a key role in the profits you will gain.

This brings us to a little back story about how we got started.

Quite a few years back when we first started investing in the markets, we just jumped right in, not knowing anything about anything of the markets. Only thinking this is how rich people make money. Eventually deciding on penny stocks was the easiest way to get rich.

We took $10,000 out of our savings account and just started investing in penny stocks without any research on anything or any company. Most of those companies we invested in already had a Q at the end of their stock ticker, not even knowing those companies were in the middle of bankruptcy. Now our number one rule is to never buy anything with a Q at the end, given example TSLAQ. If the stock symbol TSLA was to have a Q at the end, it would most definitely mean the company was in the middle of a bankruptcy filing. Indebilty could go either way, and you could still profit as some companies do regain profits after bankruptcy but you will most definitely have to HODL for the entire duration of the bankruptcy proceedings to sake the outcome.

Although we did eventually make a profit on the companies that gained from the bankruptcy, we are still today holding many with Qs that haven't moved and have even had some liquidations, which says all of our shareholdings with that company are worthless, just gone, and will never be profited from as the company is completely out of business. Back to what we were saying.

What is an ETF investment?

An ETF investment is a share of a specific company you invest in, that pays you a dividend, most likely monthly or yearly depending on the company.

What is a dividend?

A dividend is a small payment received monthly or yearly from a current share of stocks you own with a said company that's considered an ETF stock and pays dividends. We forget the abbreviation meaning but it works just like rent. The company pays you a small fee each month or year to hold their shares, for each share you hold of the company. Or kind of like a savings bank that pays you interest for holding your money in the account. Depending on how many share you own of a certain ETF company, the profits can be enormous, as we are personally paying our mortgage from the earning payments of ETF investments.

The most common ETFs are real estate stocks that pay monthly dividends but most people tend to stay with well-known companies' stocks that also pay dividends like Walmart and Pepsi. That's where real estate crowdsourcing looks like a better investment. As inflation rates rise, people would stop buying Pepsi but would avoid not paying the rent or mortgage.

What is real estate crowdsourcing?

Real estate crowdsourcing also lets you earn dividends, but the investment is focused on specific real estate properties or companies, which can include multi-million dollar real estate companies or just properties from a local real estate investor with several rental properties. We would like to mention that there are a few non-legit apps out for real estate crowdsourcing investments so if interested please only use this FUNDRAISE app for your real estate crowdsourcing investments.

What is options trading?

Options trading is not advised for any beginner trader as it includes a very high risk to personal capital. Options trading is there for the what-if and gives the option to buy a stock at a lower price for a small non-refundable fee. There are other features of the options trading including puts and calls which we will cover at a later time in complete how-to gain profits from options trading.

What are IPO investments?

IPO investments are our absolute favorite investments, as we have earned profits from almost every IPO we have purchased. IPO stands for initial public offering, which means the stock hasn't even hit the market yet, but they need a little more backing to keep things rolling before their stock is even available for purchase on the stock market. By purchasing an IPO you automatically get the shares at a reduced price, before they hit the market. Please don't take this as advice to buy all IPOs as they do require a lot of research. You must research each offering before purchasing, as IPOs can be purchased on the assumption of long-term or short-term earnings. We would highly advise researching the entire company's project before purchasing the IPO. Initially choose your investment strategies, whether long-term or short term before purchase.

IPO investments are also, not advised for beginner traders as they do come with a high risk of capital loss by not doing the research properly. Our motto for some time now has become, if we would use it, then buy it. Then taking into effect the long-term investment strategies or short term and just watching as some IPOs come to the market completely overpriced. Therefore advancing a mass-market sell-off and dropping the price as soon as released.

How to start investing in the markets?

That is the easy question. As to how to start investing in the markets is completely based on your preferences but it is highly advised to completely diversity your investment portfolio, meaning don't just stick to investing in one company or using just one option. You would most definitely want to completely diversify your investment portfolio using multiply different investments, including crowdsourcing, ETFs, options, stocks, bonds, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and now even digital commodities.
